Physics of Optoelectronic Devices (Wiley Series in Pure and Applied Optics)

The first of these continues the introduction to the subject by covering semiconductor electronics, basic quantum mechanics, electronic band structures and electromagnetics. The next four parts cover different aspects of optoelectronics. Part II is devoted to the propagation of light in various media and in waveguides. Part III covers the generation of light in semiconductors and includes a description of semiconductor lasers. Part IV turns to the modulation of light-both directly through the modulation of semiconductor lasers and indirectly by acousto-optic and electro-optic techniques.
